Dr. Abdul Rahim is currently the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International) and Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). He is also the Independent Director of Etiqa General Takaful Berhad & Etiqa Family Takaful Berhad since October 2017. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of East London, and Master’s degree in Accounting and Management Sciences, and PhD in Accounting in Islamic Institutions from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom.
Currently, Professor Abdul Rahim is a member of Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia’s (JAKIM) Muamalat Panel of Experts. He is also a member of the Shariah Committee for Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia, an Islamic microfinance provider. He is actively involved in teaching, research and consultancy on Islamic Finance, Islamic Accounting, Ethics and Governance, and Shariah Audit. He has published 3 books, and more than 40 papers in academic journals and chapters in books.
